Knit Stitches
Cherry Stitch

Cherry stitch is worked on the right side of a stockinette stitch background. The ‘cherries’ should
be spaced (on the right side) and 12 rows between them, alternating in the spaces after 1st
sequence of cherries has been made.
1st row: *working alternately into front and back, k5 into 1 stitch*.
2nd, 4th and 6th rows: purl
3rd row: knit
5th row: slip first 4 sts over the 5th separately, starting with the 4th and working back.
Work for 12 rows from 1st row.
Sloping Cherry Stitch

Cast on in multiples of 6.
1st row: *k2, working alternately into front and back, k6 into 1 stitch; now slip 5 of these sts over
the 6th (these six stitches make the cherry); p3*
2nd and all even numbered rows: k the k sts and p the p sts, exactly as sts appear on
needle.
3rd row: *p1, k2, 1 cherry, p2*.
As you work, continue moving the pattern 1 st towards the left.
Alternating Mullion

Cast on in Multiples of 6 plus 4.
1st and all odd numbered rows ending with 9th: *k4, p2*, k4
2nd and all even numbered rows: purl
11th and all odd numbered rows, ending with the 19th: k1, *p2, k4*, p2 k1
When 20th row has been worked, rep from 1st row.
Reversed Mullion Stitch

1st row: p4, k2
2nd and all even numbered rows: p the p sts and k the k sts, exactly as sts appear on
needle.
3rd and 5th rows: as 1st row.
7th row: p3, *k1, p2, k1, p2*
9th row: p2, *k1, p4*, k1
11th, 13th and 15th rows: *k2, p4*
17th row: as 9th row
19th row as 7th row
When 20th row has been worked rep from 1st row
