Baby's 3 Piece Set

Materials:

 
  • 1 Bone Crochet Hook, Size 3.
  • 4 balls, Baby yarn, 3fold, completes set.
 

SACQUE

Starting at neck, ch 81 sts (to measure 10 inches).

Row 1--Work 1 s c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each ch to end of row, (80 sts), ch 1, and turn.

Row 2--Work 1 sc in each st across row, ch 1, turn.

Row 3--*Work 1 s c in each of the next 5 s c, 2 s c in next st, repeat from *across row, do not inc in last 5 sts through out yoke.

Row 4--Work even.

Row 5--Inc in every 10th st.

Row 6--Work even.

Rows 7 and 8—Repeat rows 5 and 6.

Rows 9 and 10--Repeat rows 3 and 4.

Rows 11, 12, 13 and I4: Repeat rows 5 and 6, 2 times.

Rows 15 and l6~-Work even.

Row 17--Inc 11 sts only (162 sts).

Row 18--Work even.

Row 19--S1 st in first s c, ch 3, 1 dc in next st * skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next st, ch 2, d c in same st, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, repeat from *to end of row, ch 3, turn (33 d c patterns).

Row 20--Work 1 d c in each of the first 2 d c, * l d c over ch 2, ch 2, 1 d c in same place, 2 d c in next st, 1 d c in next st, repeat from *to end of row, ch 3, turn.

Row 21--Work 1 d c in each of the first 2 d c, *1 d c over ch 2, ch 2, 1 d c in same place, 1 d c in each of the next 3 sts, repeat from *to end of row, ch 3, turn.

Repeat row 21, 2 more times.

Row 24--Follow pattern increasing 1 d c in each d c group across row.

Row 25—Follow pattern and work over 12 patterns, ending with 1 d c in first d c group after last open pattern, ch 3, turn.

SLEEVES: Follow pattern back to with in 5 d c groups of front, end row with 1 d c in first d c group after last open pattern, ch 3, turn.

Repeat these 2 rows until you have 10 rows from beg of sleeve.

Make a dec in center of every d c group as follows;
Thread over hook, insert hook in first st, draw thread through (3 loops on needle), insert hook in next st, draw through, thread over, draw thread through 3 loops, thread over, draw through 2 loops.

Work 2 more rows even.

Now make another dec.

Work 2 more rows even (16 rows).

CUFF: Work 1 s c in each d c, 1 s c over ch 2 across row

now work 3 rows of sc even.

SCALLOP: *Ch 3, skip 1 s c, s c in next st, repeat from * across row. Fasten thread in last d c of first row of sleeve, follow pattern across back (16 patterns) ending with an open pattern and 1 d c in first d c group after last open pattern, ch 3, turn.

Work 2nd sleeve to correspond to other sleeve.

Sew up sleeve seams.

Continue in pattern, working 4 d c in d c groups to underarm seam, 2 d c with ch 2 between in sleeve seam, continue across back, 2 d c with ch 2 between sleeve seam, in 2nd sleeve, follow pattern across front.

Next row, inc group of 4 d c to 5 d c.

Work 4 rows even.

Now continue to inc 1 d c in each d c group, every 5th row, until there are 7 dc.

Work 4 rows even, break thread.

Starting at neck edge of left front yoke work 1 s c in each row to bottom of yoke, *ch 3, s c in each row, repeat from * to bottom of sacque then * ch 3, skip 1 st, s c in next st, repeat from *across bottom, ch 3, work other front to correspond to yoke, s c in each row of yoke. Ch l, turn

1 s c in each of the first 3 sts, ch 3, skip 2 sts (buttonhole), 4 s c, ch 3, skip 2 s c, 4 s c, ch 3, skip 2 s c, 3 s c in last 3 sts, break thread.

Sew on buttons to correspond to buttonholes.

 

CAP

Row 1--Ch 4, join, ch 3, work 11 d c in ring, join with a sl st.

Row 2--Ch 3, 2 d c in each st (24 d c) including the ch 3 at beginning of row, join with a sl st.

Row 3--Ch 3, 2 d c in next st, * 1 d c in next st, 2dc in next st, repeat from * around row (36 d c); join with a sl st.

Row 4--Ch 3, 1 d c in next st, 2 d c in next st, * 1 d c in each of the next 2 sts, 2 d c in next st, repeat from * around (48 d c), join with a sl st.

Row 5---Ch 3, 1 d c in next 2 sts, 2 d c in next st, * 1 d c in each of the next 3 sts, 2 d c in next st, repeat from * around (60 dc), join with a sl st. Inc in this manner, having 1 more d c between each increase, thus adding 12 more sts in each row, until you have 9 increased rows (108 sts). Work without increasing for 5 more rows. Ch 3, turn, skip first st, work 1 d c in each st to within 26 sts of ch 3 at beginning of row (back of cap). * Ch 3, turn, skip first st, 1 d c in each st across, repeat from * for 6 more rows, decreasing 2 sts in each row, but do not have decreases at same place as previous row.

BRIM: Row 1---Ch 3, turn, work 1 d c in each of the next 3 sts, ch 1, d c in same st as last d c, *1 dc in each of the next 4 sts, ch 1, d c in same st, repeat from * across row, ending row with 1 d c in each of the last 3 sts, ch 3, turn

Row 2--Work 1 d c in each of the first 2 d c, 1 d c between next 2 d c, ch 1, d c in same place, * 3 d c over 3 d c group, 1 d c between next 2 d c, ch l, d c in same st, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn.

Row 3--Inc 2 d c in each d c group (5 d c over 3 d c), but do not inc in first and last d c groups.

Rows 4 and 5--Work even. Starting on right side of brim, fasten yarn and * ch 3, skip 1 st, s c in next st, repeat from *across front of cap.

Hat cord may be sewed on wrong side of brim if desired. Fold band back and crochet side of band to cap continue crocheting in each st across front of cap continue on other side and s c around back of cap skipping about 4 sts on back.

 

SHOES

With double strand of yarn, ch 17, d c in 3rd ch from hook, d c in each of the next 13 sts, 3 d c in end st, 13 d c on other side of ch, 3 d c in last st, join with a sl st. Ch 3,

Work 1 more row in same manner, increasing 8 d c in the rnd, ch 1.

Row 3--Work .5 s c in next $ sts, 1 h d c in next st, d c in each st to within 9 sts from beg of row (inc 8 sts to the rnd), 1 h d c, s c to end of rnd, narrow part is heel. Ch l, 1 s c around sole, picking up inside thread only

next row: work 1 s c in each st to within 9 s c of center front, 1 h d c 15 d c, 1 h d c, s c along side to within 7 sc of center back, 1 hdc, I1 dc, 1 h d c, s c on other side to within 8 d c of center front, 1 h d c, work 6 d c in next 12 d c (work 2 d c as 1 d c, thus decreasing every other d c), 1 h d c.

Work 2nd row of heel in same manner as first.

Work next row same as previous row in front (6 decreases) but work sides and heel in s c.

On 5th row from sole, work 1 row of s c around shoe, now s c to within 11 sts of front, ch 1, turn, s c to within 10 sts of center front, ch 20 sts for strap, s c in 2nd ch from hook, s c to end of turning cr. Ch 1, turn,

Work 2 more rows in same manner.

On end of strap, s c, ch 3, s c (buttonhole), fasten off.

Sew on button.

Work other shoe to correspond.

 

MITTS

Size--Infants and Size 1
Needles--1 Set No. 3 Double Pointed, American Standard. Materials--~ ounce 3 ply Baby Yarn.

Cast 12 sts on first needle, 12 sts on 2nd needle, 12 sts on 3rd needle, with 4th, K 1, P 1 for 6 rows. *Y O, K 2 tog, repeat from * for 1 rnd.

K 1, P 1 for 4 rows.

Remainder of mitten is K 1 row P 1 row, place marker for beg and end of rnd, inc 1 st on each needle, 39 sts.

Work 2 ½ inches even (3 inches, size 1). *K 3, K 2 tog, repeat from *for 1 rnd. Work 3 rnds even.

*K 2, K 2 tog, repeat from *for 1 rnd.

*Work 1 rnd even. K l, K 2, tog, repeat from * until 10 sts remain. Weave sts tog or bind off, fold and sew. With 2 strands of yarn, ch 80 sts, tape through beading of cuff.
